Vintage Vice City Pack: What GTA 6 Pre-Orders Actually Get

Rockstar has dated new GTA 6 footage for August 27 (An Extended Look, announced August 6). Whether it touches the pre-order pack is unknown.

Rockstar attached one universal freebie to GTA 6 pre-orders, and it’s identical everywhere: the Vintage Vice City Pack, for any order placed before November 20, 2026, per Rockstar’s June 24 pre-order announcement. Digital pre-orders stack one month of GTA+ on top. The pack is the simple half of that bundle. The subscription month carries fine print worth two minutes of your attention.

What the Vintage Vice City Pack actually is

The store pages describe the pack in a single line, but the itemized list lives on Rockstar’s platforms-and-editions support page, and it’s short: a ‘55 Vapid Stanier sedan with its own garage, a set of outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern.

Read that list twice and the shape is clear. One vintage car, wardrobe cosmetics, and a skin for a gun. Nothing on the list suggests missions or story content rides along, so nothing playable appears to be walled behind the pre-order window. The name is still doing deliberate nostalgia work: Vice City is the city the series last visited as a playable setting in the mid-2000s, and a mid-century sedan plus period wardrobe dresses the 2026 leads in the city’s old iconography.

What the support page doesn’t say is how the items arrive in-game — sitting in the wardrobe and garage from the opening hours, or unlocked as the story moves. That detail is unpublished, and we’ll label it unknown until Rockstar says otherwise.

The catch: the free GTA+ month auto-renews when it ends. If you do not want to keep paying for it, cancel on the day you redeem it, not the day it expires.

The Standard Edition ($79.99) and the Ultimate Edition ($99.99) receive the identical bonus, and they have since pre-orders opened on June 25. Ultimate’s extra content is a separate bucket entirely, and Rockstar’s support page confirms that upgrade can be bought separately at any time after redeeming your game code — which leaves this pack and the GTA+ month as the time-limited part of the GTA 6 pre-order picture. Where you order doesn’t matter either. The bonus comes from Rockstar, not from any retailer: the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store, and the boxed code-in-a-box copies at retail all carry it, and the same offer appears on official listings from the US to India. One detail most coverage misses: the offer wording is “before November 20,” and launch day is November 19. Buy the game on release day and you still qualify. The pre-order bonus quietly survives a full day past release.

The GTA+ month: auto-renew is the real fine print

GTA+ is Rockstar’s monthly subscription, and its benefits today pay out in GTA Online — the mode attached to the previous game. GTA 6 itself launches as a single-player experience with no announced online mode, so what a GTA+ month will mean inside the new game is a question Rockstar hasn’t answered.

One nuance worth flagging first: Rockstar’s wording ties the free month to digital pre-orders specifically. The boxed copy is a download code anyway, but if the GTA+ month is a deciding factor for you, the digital storefronts are where the offer is spelled out.

The redemption mechanics differ by platform, and Rockstar’s own GTA+ redemption page publishes both deadlines: March 31, 2027 for PlayStation Store redemptions, and within 180 days of purchase on Xbox, which the Xbox Store page states as 180 days from placing the pre-order. One redemption per platform account. Go by the storefront you bought from.

Then the part this section exists for: the subscription auto-renews, and the PlayStation listing flags as much right on the page. Once the free month runs out, GTA+ starts billing monthly unless you cancel. That’s standard subscription plumbing, not a scandal. But a free bonus that quietly converts into a recurring charge deserves a plain warning, so here it is: redeem the month when you’ll actually use it, then set a calendar reminder to cancel a few days before it ends. Thirty seconds of setup against a charge you didn’t plan on.

And if you don’t play GTA Online today, consider holding the redemption until Rockstar explains what GTA+ does in the new game. On Xbox’s wording you have 180 days from placing the pre-order to decide, which comfortably covers launch and whatever Rockstar announces around it.

What Rockstar hasn’t said

Two open questions mark where the confirmed ground ends. Whether the pack ever goes on sale separately: unknown. The Ultimate upgrade has an explicit post-launch purchase path; the pack has no equivalent statement in either direction, so assume nothing. And how the sedan, outfits, and weapon pattern arrive in-game (available from the opening hours, or unlocked as the story moves) is anyone’s guess.

Neither unknown changes the decision math much. The pack costs nothing extra, attaches to both editions, and the only action it asks of you is ordering before November 20.

What to watch

The corporate date has already gone by. Take-Two reported Q1 FY2027 results on August 7, the first plausible venue for official pre-order data, and the release published none. The word “pre-order” does not appear in it. It reiterated FY2027 net bookings guidance of $8.0 to $8.2 billion and restated the November 19 launch twice, so the pack’s terms are exactly where they were. Two dates still matter, and the first is Rockstar’s. On August 6 it announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, which premiered August 27 on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET and reached Rockstar’s YouTube channel and the GTA VI site at 9 p.m. ET. Rockstar has not used the label “Trailer 3” and has published no format or content detail beyond the 26:49 runtime of its official upload, so whether the pack turns up in it is unknown. The second is the one that affects your wallet: pre-load opens November 12, launch is November 19, and the Vintage Vice City Pack stays claimable on any order placed before November 20. If Rockstar publishes more about the pack at a marketing beat between now and then, this page gets updated the same day.
