GTA 6 deadlines, and what has no deadline at all

What is still actionable

Nov 2026 2
Mar 2027 1

The list tells you what each deadline is; this shows when they cluster. 4 items on this page carry no deadline on record at all and are listed separately below. 3 items in total, counted from this page’s own dated record at build time.

Most GTA 6 buying advice is written once and never touched again. Deadlines are the part that actually expires. Every row below carries the official source it came from and the date we last checked it. The dated rows below reproduce sourced official rules. The 180-day calendar cards are NeonPulse calculations derived from Rockstar’s rule; they are illustrations, not official account-specific deadlines.

Microsoft 180-day window: the calendar maths

Rockstar states the Xbox / Microsoft Store GTA+ offer must be redeemed within 180 days after your purchase. That is a rule, not a fixed date, so it lands differently for every buyer. The list below adds exactly 180 calendar days to each purchase week in the eligible window, at build time: no script runs in your browser, and nothing is entered or stored.

These are calendar dates, not your official deadline. Rockstar does not define how “purchase” maps to order placement, payment authorisation or charge timing, so the start point cannot be fixed here; it states no timezone and does not say whether the purchase day counts as day zero or day one, so the real date may differ by a day. Microsoft says digital pre-order charge timing depends on payment method — an account balance may be charged immediately, other methods closer to release — and nothing states whether Microsoft surfaces the exact 180-day date. Check Offers & Credits and your order history, redeem early rather than near the end, and contact Microsoft Support if your account does not show a clear date.

Eligible purchase window: (pre-orders opened) to (launch).

Derived calculation, illustrative only. Each card adds 180 calendar days to a purchase week. It is not a Rockstar- or Microsoft-published date.

What has no deadline (and gets misreported)

These are the three that cause the most avoidable panic-buying. None of them is time-limited.

Ultimate Edition Upgrade

There is no deadline. Rockstar Support states the Ultimate Edition Upgrade is available for Standard Edition owners to purchase separately at any time. In the US Microsoft Store it is listed at $20.00 and requires the base game, which is sold separately.

Physical buyers upgrading

No deadline. Physical version buyers can upgrade at any point after their digital download code has been redeemed.

GTA+ after the free month

Not a deadline, but a condition worth knowing before you redeem: after the free month, memberships auto-renew monthly at the regular monthly price until canceled. You can cancel at any time. The offer is limited to one redemption per platform account.

How this page is maintained

Every row is checked against its primary source and stamped with the date of that check. Expired deadlines stay on the page rather than being deleted, so the record remains auditable. If a date changes, the change is logged on our corrections page. Our sourcing standard is set out in the editorial policy.
