Corrections

A site whose entire pitch is accuracy has to show its working when it gets something wrong. Every material correction we make is logged here permanently, with the date and what changed.

The policy

  • We fix fast. Factual errors are corrected as soon as they're confirmed, not at the next convenient update.
  • We date it. A corrected article carries an updated date so you can see it changed.
  • We log it here. Material corrections — anything affecting a fact, figure, or a claim's tier — get a permanent entry below.
  • We don't quietly delete. Silently editing a wrong claim out of existence is not a correction.
  • Typos aren't logged. Spelling and formatting fixes are made without ceremony. This log is for substance.

Spotted something wrong? Tell us. Reader corrections are treated as a favour, not a complaint.

The log

  1. The privacy policy described affiliate income the site does not earn

    What was wrong: Our privacy policy stated that articles "may contain affiliate links, which earn us a commission if you buy through them at no extra cost to you." That is a present-tense description of income NeonPulse does not receive. It also directly contradicted our terms of use, which state that the site earns nothing from any link on it.

    What we changed: The paragraph now says what is true: there are no affiliate links, no sponsored posts and no paid placements anywhere on this site, and if that ever changes each commercial link will carry rel="sponsored" and be disclosed above the article. A site-wide crawl found the contradiction. The terms page had already been corrected earlier the same day and the privacy page was missed, which is why we now check the whole site rather than the page we happen to be editing.

  2. Publication dates on three early articles

    What was wrong: Three articles carried a publication date of July 3, 2026: the no-disc explainer, the online release-date piece, and the Standard vs Ultimate comparison. July 3 was the date the drafts were written, not the date they were publicly reachable.

    What we changed: Version-control history shows the earliest commit in this repository is July 18, 2026, and the site first went live that day on its Cloudflare Pages URL. We reset each date to the first day the file provably existed in a deployed build: July 18 for the no-disc explainer, July 19 for the other two. No article was ever publicly reachable on July 3, and we would rather show a younger, accurate date than an older, unprovable one.

  3. Multiple articles referencing pre-order figures

    What was wrong: Several articles cited the widely-circulated "39 million pre-orders / $3 billion in 24 hours" figure as a report or estimate.

    What we changed: We traced the number to a single unsourced social post with no data behind it — roughly four times the most bullish credible estimate. Every reference was changed to identify it as a viral claim rather than a report, and our internal fact base reclassified it from "estimate" to "false". SUPERSEDED by the 2026-08-02 entry below: "false" overstated what the evidence supports.

  4. The "39 million pre-orders" claim — classification corrected

    What was wrong: From July 19 we described the viral "39 million pre-orders / $3 billion" figure as false, fabricated, debunked or disproved across several articles and pages. One page told readers it was "disproved on the fact ledger" while the ledger itself already recorded it as Rumor.

    What we changed: That classification exceeded the evidence, and we would rather say so than quietly edit it away. The claim is unsupported or unsubstantiated: two secondary fact-checks traced it to a single unsourced post and reported finding no supporting data. That does not prove the numerical claim false — an absence of supporting data is not disproof, and we wrote as though it were. The ledger records it as Rumor, its permalink is unchanged so existing citations still resolve, and where an outlet reached a stronger verdict we now attribute that verdict to the outlet rather than adopting it as our own conclusion.

  5. GTA 6 release date history

    What was wrong: Our fact base recorded that no GTA 6 release date had ever been officially moved.

    What we changed: That was wrong. Rockstar announced May 26, 2026 and later moved it to November 19, 2026. The delay history article and the underlying fact base now record that move accurately.
