How NeonPulse uses official Grand Theft Auto VI media

Where the images come from

Every official image on this site was downloaded from Rockstar Games’ own Media & Artwork library, using the download controls that page provides. At the time of writing that page describes itself with the words “Download and share trailers, imagery, and more.”

We take the files from Rockstar’s own packages, never from a third-party mirror, a fan re-upload, a press aggregator or a search engine, even when the same picture is available there. Each file we ship records the package it came from and a SHA-256 hash of the original, so any claim on this page can be checked rather than believed.

We do not use leaked footage or leaked development material of any kind, and we do not publish AI-generated images of characters, locations or gameplay presented as if they were real.

What we claim, and what we do not

• We do not claim a licence. These images are not licensed to NeonPulse.
• We do not claim they are rights-cleared or public domain. They are not.
• We do not claim any affiliation. NeonPulse is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
• The images remain the property of their owners. Copyright in this material belongs to Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive.
• We state the risk rather than hiding it. Rockstar publishes these files under a “Download and share” control, and Rockstar’s separate fan-content policy does not extend its non-commercial permission to digital publishing. NeonPulse is a monetised publication, so that permission does not cover us. We use the material as editorial illustration of news about the game, and Take-Two can ask us to remove it.

Our internal classification for this material is OFFICIAL_ROCKSTAR_DOWNLOAD_AND_SHARE_MEDIA — COMMERCIAL DIGITAL-PUBLISHING RISK NOT WAIVED.

How an image is matched to a subject

Rockstar files its own media by subject: screenshots under People/<name> and Places/<place>, artwork under Postcards/<place>. When this site says a picture shows Port Gellhorn, that is Rockstar’s filing, not our guess about what the picture looks like.

Where Rockstar has published nothing, we show nothing. Our locations page lists seven places; Rockstar publishes official media for six of them. The seventh, Leonida Penitentiary, carries an explicit “no official image” state rather than a borrowed picture of somewhere else. An unrelated image under a place name is a false caption even when it is attractive.

What we host, and what we only link to

These are three different things and this site does all three, so it is worth being exact:

• Images we host. Location cards, hub leads, article cards and the homepage artwork are Rockstar files we downloaded, resized and re-encoded for the web, and they are served from this domain. We host those copies. We changed nothing except size and format: no crop that changes the subject, no watermark or copyright notice removed, no recolouring.
• Images we only point at. Some cards describe an official asset and link to Rockstar’s own site without copying anything.
• Video we never host. Trailers load from Rockstar’s official YouTube channel through a click-to-load facade. We do not host or re-upload video.

Official media versus our own graphics

Photographic images of the game are Rockstar’s and are always credited as official media. Charts, tables and evidence labels are ours, are drawn only from data this site publishes, and never depict the game. If a graphic shows a number, we made it. If it shows the game, Rockstar made it.
