TL;DR
- Take-Two reported first-quarter fiscal 2027 results on Friday, August 7, 2026, before the U.S. market open. Its conference call was scheduled for 8:00 a.m. Eastern and had not begun when this was published.
- The GTA 6 headline: Take-Two restated November 19, 2026 as the GTA 6 launch date and disclosed no pre-order total.
- The quarter ended June 30, 2026, so it contains only six calendar days of the GTA 6 pre-order window: June 25–30 inclusive.
- Q1 net bookings: $1.39 billion, down 3% from $1.42 billion a year earlier, which the company describes as slightly above its guidance range
- FY2027 guidance: held — Take-Two reiterated its fiscal 2027 net bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion
- November 19, 2026 launch date: restated in these materials, both in the CEO's quoted remarks and in the company's own future-lineup table
The short answer for a GTA 6 reader. Take-Two restated November 19, 2026 as the GTA 6 launch date and disclosed no pre-order total. Everything below separates what Take-Two actually disclosed from what it left alone. Where the company said nothing, this page says so and stops there.
Release and retrieval: Take-Two's Q1 FY2027 results release, filed as Exhibit 99.1 to a Form 8-K with the SEC on August 7, 2026 (accession 0001628280-26-054580), retrieved at 11:41 UTC on August 7, 2026, following the schedule Take-Two announced on July 9.
What was disclosed and what was not
| Question | What the primary source says |
|---|---|
| Q1 FY2027 net bookings | $1.39 billion, down 3% from $1.42 billion a year earlier, which the company describes as slightly above its guidance range |
| FY2027 net bookings guidance | held — Take-Two reiterated its fiscal 2027 net bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion |
| November 19, 2026 launch date | restated in these materials, both in the CEO's quoted remarks and in the company's own future-lineup table |
| GTA 6 pre-order total | none disclosed — the release contains no GTA 6 pre-order figure of any kind |
| Online mode after launch | the release says nothing about post-launch online plans, and the conference call had not begun at the time of publication |
| A GTA 6 trailer | Addressed in the trailer section below, against the release. The call had not begun. |
| Launch-day unit sales | Cannot be known before launch. No company forecast of day-one units exists. |
The quarter and the guidance are two different numbers
The quarter result covers April 1 – June 30, 2026 — business that has already happened. Pre-orders for GTA 6 opened June 25, so the reported quarter contains six calendar days of that window: June 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30. Six days of a pre-order period that runs until launch is not a measure of total demand.
The annual guidance is a forward-looking company estimate for fiscal 2027 as a whole, the fiscal year containing the November 19 launch. The prior published figure was a $8.0–8.2 billion net bookings range from Take-Two’s May 21, 2026 fiscal-2026 results release.
Q1 net bookings: $1.39 billion, down 3% from $1.42 billion a year earlier, which the company describes as slightly above its guidance range · FY2027 guidance: held — Take-Two reiterated its fiscal 2027 net bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion
One wording distinction is worth preserving, because it is easy to flatten. The release’s own headline says the company “updates fiscal year 2027 outlook and reiterates expectation for Net Bookings of $8.0 to $8.2 billion.” Those are two statements, not one. The net bookings range is the figure stated as reiterated; “updates outlook” covers the wider set of financial lines in the release. This page reports the net bookings range as held and does not extend that word to every other line item.
Guidance held
Take-Two left its FY2027 net bookings range unchanged: held — Take-Two reiterated its fiscal 2027 net bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion. That is a statement about the company’s own financial expectations for the fiscal year. It is not a statement about GTA 6’s content, scope or schedule.
November 19 was restated
The results materials restated the November 19, 2026 launch date: restated in these materials, both in the CEO's quoted remarks and in the company's own future-lineup table. A date counts as reaffirmed only when the company repeats it in new material, not when an older page still carries it. This is a fresh restatement, and the release-date record cites it.
It appears twice. Strauss Zelnick’s quoted remarks refer to “the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI”, and the release’s table of announced future titles lists Grand Theft Auto VI on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with a release date of November 19, 2026. Both are the company’s own words in new material published today.
No pre-order number was disclosed
Take-Two disclosed no GTA 6 preorder total in the reviewed materials. Absence of a disclosed figure is not evidence about demand in either direction.
The word “pre-order” does not appear in the release at all — a bounded observation about this document, checked programmatically over its full extracted text. Given that the quarter captured only six days of the window, a figure drawn from it would have described those six days rather than demand to date.
Online: nothing in the release, and the call had not begun
The results release contains no online-mode announcement — no date, no format, no roadmap. the release says nothing about post-launch online plans, and the conference call had not begun at the time of publication
This is deliberately not recorded as “the subject did not come up.” That claim would require the call to have happened, and at publication it had not. The honest statement is narrower: the written release is silent, and the call is a separate source that this page has not yet reviewed. This section will be updated against the call rather than left to imply something the record does not support.
GTA 6 Trailer 3
The reviewed materials — the results release filed this morning — contain no reference to a GTA 6 trailer. The live status is tracked on the Trailer 3 status page.
That absence matters less than it would have a week ago, and the reason is worth stating plainly: new footage is already dated, and Take-Two had nothing to do with dating it. On August 6, 2026 — the day before these results — Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look for August 27, premiering on Netflix at 3:00 p.m. ET and reaching Rockstar’s own YouTube channel and the GTA VI site at 9:00 p.m. ET. Rockstar did not call it “Trailer 3”, and has published nothing about its runtime, format or contents. It was Rockstar’s announcement on Rockstar’s channels, not a Take-Two earnings disclosure, and this page does not credit the call with it.
What management said
"With these positive trends and excitement around the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, we are reiterating our Fiscal 2027 Net Bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion." — Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEOQuotation is used only where the exact wording carries the meaning, and is copied from the primary source. Where this page paraphrases, it says so.
What this does not tell you
An earnings release is a financial disclosure. It is a poor instrument for questions about a game’s content or schedule unless the company chooses to address them.
- It does not establish launch-day sales, which cannot be known before launch.
- It does not change any claim on this site that it did not directly address. Every claim we hold, with its evidence tier, is on the confirmed-claims ledger, and every source we cite is in the source ledger.
This page reports what a company disclosed. It is not investment advice, it makes no recommendation, and it draws no conclusion from share-price movement.
