GTA 6 Vice City Map: What Rockstar Has Actually Shown
The GTA 6 Vice City map has just four officially named places and a modern-Florida setting. Here's what Rockstar actually confirmed and what fans invented.

TL;DR
- Rockstar has named exactly four places on the GTA 6 Vice City map: Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, the Tisha-Wocka flea market and VC Port.
- Vice City is one of six official regions in the state of Leonida, and the only city among them named so far.
- This is a modern Florida analogue, not the eighties Miami pastiche the original ran on.
- Every neighbourhood name, street layout and size figure beyond those four is fan analysis, not official.
- The next real drop of map information is Trailer 3, which still has no announced date.
Vice City is back after a long absence, and the version returning in November has almost nothing in common with the one people remember. Rockstar has published a district page for it, named four locations on it, and stopped there. Everything else circulating as a “confirmed Vice City map” is somebody’s freeze-frame guesswork with a confident caption attached.
Here’s the actual line between the two.
What Rockstar has confirmed about the GTA 6 Vice City map
Rockstar’s official site gives Vice City a region page with the tagline Everything in Excess, and the copy sets the tone plainly: it calls the city “the sun and fun capital of America,” while acknowledging the distance from the decade that made it famous.
Four sub-locations get named on that page, and only four:
- Ocean Beach. The pastel art deco hotel strip and white sand, the postcard version of the city.
- Little Cuba. Described through its bakeries and street life, the Cuban-American heart of the map.
- The Tisha-Wocka flea market. A bootleg-goods market, the low-rent counterweight to Ocean Beach.
- VC Port. Framed as the cruise ship capital of the world, which puts a working commercial harbour on the map rather than decorative waterfront.
That’s the complete official inventory. No street grid, no minimap screenshot, no district count, no square mileage. Rockstar has released cover art, a new logo, a main theme and 51 official screenshots across June 18 and June 25, 2026, plus two trailers. It has not released a map.
The four names do tell you something structural. They cover a tourist beachfront, an immigrant neighbourhood, an informal economy and a port. That’s four distinct economic strata inside one city, which reads less like the compact playground of the original and more like a place designed to be navigated by class as much as by geography.
How the GTA 6 Vice City map differs from the original Vice City
The original Vice City was a period piece. It borrowed eighties Miami wholesale: neon, Ferraris, pastel suits, a soundtrack built on the decade’s radio, and a city small enough to memorise in a weekend. Its whole design argument was atmosphere, and the map was built to serve it.
The 2026 version drops the period entirely. Rockstar’s own copy signals it directly, positioning the city as a long way from the eighties while insisting the character survived the decades. This Vice City is a contemporary Florida analogue: modern phones, modern policing, modern internet culture, modern tourism economy. The 51 screenshots and both trailers show present-day cars, present-day fashion and social-media-era framing throughout.
That shift matters more than it sounds. The original could be a pastiche because nobody expected eighties Miami to be simulated accurately. A modern setting invites direct comparison to a real place people visit, which raises the bar on density, traffic behaviour and the texture of a working city. Our read: the four named locations are chosen to advertise exactly that range.
What carries over is the thesis rather than the furniture. Vice City has always been Rockstar’s satire of a city that sells hedonism as an industry, and the excess tagline says the studio is keeping that read intact. The delivery changes: the original sold excess through cocaine money and neon, the 2026 version sells it through tourism, cruise terminals, influencer economies and the gap between the beachfront and everywhere behind it. Same argument, different century, and the four named locations map neatly onto both halves of it.
The other structural difference is that the original was the map. Vice City was the whole product. In 2026 it is one region out of six.
Vice City as the anchor of the state of Leonida
Leonida is the state, Florida is the model, and Rockstar has officially named six regions inside it: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park. Each has its own page and its own tone, running from an archipelago of bars to Everglades wetlands to a decayed stretch of forgotten coast to a national park on the state’s northern edge.
Vice City is the anchor. It is the only urban centre named among the six, it carries the marketing, and both protagonists’ story is framed around it. The other five regions are defined partly by what they are not: the Keys are the escape, Grassrivers is the wilderness, Port Gellhorn is the economic opposite of Ocean Beach.
If you want the full breakdown of all six and what Rockstar has said about each, that’s covered in our gta 6 all locations piece. The relevant point for the city itself is that Vice City no longer has to do everything, which frees it to be denser and more specific than a standalone map could afford.
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are the two people you’ll navigate it as, with Lucia leaving Leonida Penitentiary early in the story. The supporting cast Rockstar has named officially, including Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre’Quan Priest, Real Dimez, Raul Bautista and Brian Heder, is the closest thing to a social map of the city that exists right now.
What fans are inferring from the trailers, and why none of it is confirmed
Search “gta 6 vice city map” and you’ll find neighbourhood names that Rockstar has never published. Washington Beach, Vice Beach, Ocean Drive and various other labels are fan identifications pulled from trailer geography, signage and real Miami analogues. Some of them may well turn out to be right. None of them is official, and the difference matters when you’re deciding what to expect.
The same applies to reconstructed layouts. Trailer 1 arrived December 4, 2023. Trailer 2 followed on May 6, 2025, using The Pointer Sisters’ “Hot Together,” with footage captured on PS5. Between them the community has assembled coastline shapes, road networks and district borders by matching shots to each other. That work is genuinely impressive and it is still extrapolation from a marketing edit, which is cut for mood rather than cartographic accuracy.
There’s an older source people lean on too. In September 2022 a large batch of work-in-progress GTA 6 footage was published without authorisation, and Rockstar confirmed a network intrusion the following day. Two things about it are worth keeping straight. The material came from several development stages, some of it roughly a year old at the time, with placeholder assets and debug overlays visible, so it never represented a finished build. And while it did broadly foreshadow a modern-day Vice City and a female lead, the fine-grained fan extrapolations built on top of it, including map scope and layout claims, largely did not survive contact with what Rockstar has since shown. Treat any map detail sourced from 2022 footage as leak material, clearly labelled, not as a preview.
Why does fan cartography keep getting reported as fact? Because it looks like a map. A labelled coastline with district borders drawn on it carries visual authority that a paragraph of hedging can’t match, and it gets screenshotted, reposted and stripped of its original caveats within a day. The people making these reconstructions are usually honest about their confidence levels. The aggregators republishing them are not.
The honest position on the layout of the GTA 6 Vice City map: nobody outside Rockstar has seen it.
How big is the Vice City map? Nobody official has said
The “twice the size of GTA 5” figure is everywhere and it is a fan estimate. Rockstar has never published an official map size for GTA 6, and here’s the part that trips people up: it never published one for GTA 5 either. Both numbers in that comparison are community measurements, which means the ratio between them is an estimate divided by an estimate.
Interior counts and points-of-interest totals circulating as hard figures land in the same bucket. They come from fan measurement and leak analysis. Use them as a rough sense of ambition and nothing more. We go through the estimates and their sources in gta 6 map size, and the broader generational comparison sits in gta 6 vs gta 5.
One thing that isn’t estimate: GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-load on November 12. The PS5 Pro Enhanced tag is confirmed on the PlayStation Store listing, though Sony and Rockstar have disclosed nothing about what the enhancement involves. No PC version has been announced.
What to watch next
The next genuine expansion of what’s known about the GTA 6 Vice City map is Trailer 3. It has no official date. Insider projections point to early August, near Take-Two’s August 7 earnings call, and that is a projection rather than a scheduled event. When it lands, the useful signal isn’t the montage, it’s the geography: whether Rockstar names a fifth location, whether the trailer holds on street signs long enough to place districts, and whether any shot shows a minimap.
The second checkpoint is hands-on previews. Rockstar has historically opened press access in the final weeks before launch, and preview coverage is where the map stops being fan reconstruction and starts being reporting. Until one of those two things happens, the four names on Rockstar’s own page are the entire confirmed map, and anything more detailed is somebody guessing well.
